On a recent visit to the Forest school as part of an invitation to parents to join in the mornings’ activities, our daughter was so excited to introduce us to her friends and show us around. She particularly wanted to show us the animals in the shed. We were totally blown away that just a few meters from where we had been sitting on logs in a sharing circle, there was a little gate that led into the farm shed where beautiful young lambs were awaiting the daily interaction with their young human companions! Bales of straw provided a seating area for a story and we got introduced to the gorgeous extra woolly varieties of sheep and highland cows that shared the shed with the lambs. It was a warm shelter which we were glad of on a particularly cold and windy morning and I have to admit that I gained a felt sense of the nativity story in a way I had never experienced before!
